Florida is a diverse marketplace with ever-changing needs. We deliver value to our Florida friends, family and neighbors through an array of choices. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida health plan options are available for individuals under 65, those eligible for Medicare, small groups and large groups.
Individuals Under 65 Years of Age
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida is dedicated to delivering value through an array of choices. Individual under 65 coverage options include HMO, available through Health Options Inc., a subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, PPO, Traditional and Temporary Protection health insurance policies. These plans are designed to offer you the kind of protection you need at an affordable price.
Medicare Eligible*
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida also offers a variety of health care coverage options for Medicare eligible Floridians 65 years of age or older. Traditional Medicare Supplement insurance policies are offered statewide. Floridians in certain counties also have access to more economical network-based** Medicare Supplement insurance policies.
The Medicare Supplement insurance policies are entry age rated and BCBSF offers a "Same Age Forever" rating guarantee. This means premium rates are based on the age when the member first enrolls in a Medicare supplement insurance policy. When members premiums are increased due to a rise in medical costs, the members rates will be based their age at the time their policy was issued.
For example, a member enrolled in a Medicare supplement policy at age 66 and when premiums are increased, the member will still be rated at age 66 even though the member may now be 69.
Group Health Benefit Plans
For employers and employees of small groups (50 employees or less) and large groups (51+ employees) based in Florida, the following health benefit plan options are available: HMO, PPO, Point of Service and Dual Option.
We also offer many additional products and services that are available to supplement health plan coverage.
Some policies have limitations and exclusions.
